HR Advisor

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to work in the Human Resources Team based in central Manchester.

The department is undergoing a period of change broadening and modernising many of the functions and support systems the team provides. The role offers a great deal of exposure to a broad variety of generalist HR functions and would suit individuals with previous experience at a similar level that are now looking to progress in their career and develop their skills and experience and help take the department through its next phase of progress in the business.

Your main responsibilities will include:-

  • Providing advice, guidance and administrative support to line managers on a broad range of investigation, disciplinary and appeal matters.
  • Providing advice, guidance and administrative support to line managers over a broad range of contractual changes including amendments to terms and conditions of employment, consultations and redundancies.
  • Providing support and assistance in relation to all absence management both short and long term including advice and guidance regarding best practice in relation to duty of care and capability meetings.
  • Providing support and assistance in relation to all aspects of TUPE including guidance regarding consultations and the collation and checking of information
  • Assist with development and implementation of a range of engagement initiatives and benefit/reward packages for onsite staff members.
  • Providing general assistance to the Human Resources Team as requested

We are looking for a candidate with CIPD accreditation at degree level or equivalent, previous experience in handling a variety of investigation/disciplinary, consultations and grievance issues is a necessity.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of up to date employment and case law and be able to provide advice and guidance on best practice. The ability to effectively and confidently communicate to a broad spectrum of individuals with tact, sensitivity and diplomacy is an essential requirement. Previous experience of providing coaching and mentoring to managers/colleagues both face to face and distance would be advantageous.

Candidates must be able to work both as part of a team and manage their time and workloads efficiently leading by example. Applicants must be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages including word, outlook and excel.

Salary is between £18,000 and £23,000 dependent upon on experience and will be discussed at interview.
